Tonality can usually be major, minor, or a combination of both. Tonal Centers are the basis for Melody, Composition and Improvisation (spontaneous composition).
Minor Tonality (m)
They are derived from the major tonalities and have a darker character.

Do I need a keyboard to take this course?
Having a keyboard or playing the keyboard is not a requirement to take this course, nor the following courses, however it is highly recommended since the piano is the most visual instrument of all and is also the complete orchestra. Several of the course concepts are illustrated on the piano yet the concepts learned in the course are universal to any instrument.
